Game Name : Grand Theft Auto 3 System : PC - Windows Date Added : 2003-10-24 12:16:59 Written By : Probed Out The third installment of the Grand Theft Auto series, this is not a game you play to have multiplayer shoot-outs with your friends. Or play for the online gameplay. Or even for the graphics. GTA3 is all about fun. You have fun playing just drivnig around between missions, blowing up cars, getting the army on your back, stealing tanks, performing amazing stunts and just stealing cars and running over people. The idea of GTA3 is fun. The story in GTA3 follows a convicted robber, who along with his new friend and explosives expert, 8-Ball, escapes from a police van and then finds himself caught up in the acts of Liberty City. The story has a lot of twists and storylines. You may think yuo've got a happy boss, after commiting a murder for him, but when you least expect it, all his mobsters will be after you. Your main objective is to get even with the person who left you there (I won't give away all the details) and basically get there by organised crime. The graphics in GTA3 are great. It actually feels like it's own little world. I actually now think about the game everytime I get into a car. I imagine weaving through a string of traffic, hoping not to see a cop car right in front of me, trying to get to a purple dot on my radar. The graphics may not be perfect, but they are even all the way through (except for maybe a few carboard trees). As far as sound goes, what can I say? Simply superb. Each car has it's own radio, with such stations as Game FM (Do you want a cat? Meow! Well, we'll send you one overnight in a box. Just go onto petovernight.com) and Lips 109. Some of the things civilians say are hilarious (My mother's my sister!). The sounds of crashing, burning and the sirens of he only enemies you have to worry about through the whole game, the LCPD are so realistic, you actually think the cops are rading your house as you play. The replay value in GTA3 is fantasic. There are plenty of cheats to make the game harder (and easier), as well as heaps of side missions to complete. GTA3 is a game you play just for fun, so if it's keeping you happy, play it. The weapons and cars in GTA3 really are the highlight of the game. Whether it be Rocket Launcher, M-16 or Baseball Bat or whether it be Banshee, Stallion or Rumpo GTA3's weapons are fun to use, just as much as the creative cars are to drive. There isn't really much more to say, other than it's something you have to experience. With the ability to work for the Mafia, Yakuza, Diablos & a rich millionare and Dog Food salesman, GTA3 has almost everything. And anything it doesn't have, can be obtained in the intended extension, but seperate game, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. But be warned! Not for children under 15 years of age! It contains probably more language, violence, sexual references & bad moral lessons in life than any other game. It has been known to effect the way people look at life. Please only give it as a gift to someone you know will not be affected by this game! Besides or those other poor moral things, the drug message in GTA3 is pretty good, with drug dealers being your main enemy through the game. And with a sequel on the way to PS2, you may as well jump on the bandwagon that's been hijacked and driven all the way ahead of the rest of the action/shoot 'em/RPG genre. Pros: -Great gameplay -Original idea -Great vehicles -Great weapons -Excellent single player -Worth the money -Keeps you guessing -Limited weapons -Addictive gameplay (this could also be a con) Cons: -No multiplayer (Even though you may not want to share quite a treat with your friends) -Bad moral -Can be insulting - Addictive gameplay (This could also be a pro) Gameplay: 9/10 Storyline: 9/10 Graphics: 8/10 Sound: 10/10 Replay Value: 9/10 Rating: 9/10 Title: Grand Theft Auto 3 Players: 1 Type: Shoot 'Em Up/Action/RPG Developer: Rockstar Games Publisher: Rockstar Games |
